Though we do not yet have a physical storefront to call home, Rozzie Bound is already deeply rooted in the Roslindale community. Our first year in business, we formed community partnerships with several great local organizations. Click here for more information about our Community Partnership Program.

Our community partners have helped us create virtual bookshelves related to the issues tjeyu The following shelves were created in collaboration with these partners:

Racial Justice Bookshelf

Our Racial Justice Bookshelf was one of the first we created. The shelf included many books being read by local organizations such as RISE (Roslindale IS for Everyone), Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library, and Social Justice Action Group at First Church in Jamaica Plain, Unitarian Universalist. In response to the Movement for Black Lives and the murder of George Floyd, we decided to donate the proceeds from this shelf to a local organization and formed a partnership with the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute for this purpose. Read more about this partnership.

The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute receives 100% of our proceeds from this bookshelf.

GreeningRozzie Bookshelf

GreeningRozzie is a great local organization that seeks “to make Roslindale a greener, more sustainable and more cohesive community.” GreeningRozzie encourages stores and restaurants to post their “Bring Your Own Container” postcards to cut down on the use of disposable containers. They are currently gearing up to engage the neighborhood in the Rozzie Solar Challenge, a competition to increase the amount of rooftop solar in Roslindale.

GreeningRozzie will receive 20% of our proceeds from this bookshelf.

Holiday Shelves – Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library

We have created three fun shelves in collaboration with our newest Community Partner, the Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library. There are books from a variety of genres that should appeal to readers with a broad range if interests. Can’t find what your looking for or need a suggestion? Feel free to contact us. We’re here to help!

Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library will receive 20% of our proceeds from this shelf.

Hispanic Heritage Month – Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library

Created in collaboration with Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library, this new bookshelf celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) with some great books for adults, teens, and children.

Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library will receive 20% of our proceeds from this shelf.
